Future Developments


  1. A five stage upgrade is proposed to augmented the connection of Pacific Palms and Green Point to the scheme (Manidis Roberts 1993):

  2.  installation of pipes and pump stations to collect and transport sewage from Pacific Palms to a new treatment plant (construction of a new STP-secondary treatment with tertiary process of phosphorus removal) at Pacific Palms).

  3. construction of a pipeline to transfer effluent from the new Pacific Palms STP to the Forster STP

  4. extension of Forster STP to increase treatment capacity (13,200 EP at present, extended in stages to 32,400 EP for the year 2016) and a higher level of treatment (secondary treatment with tertiary process of phosphorus reduction

  5. both Pacific Palms and Forster effluent to undergo tertiary process of filtration and disinfection;

  6. construction of an effluent reuse system (initially between 10% and 20% of effluent reused) and  storage pond to be constructed to store wet weather flows (MHL640 1993).
